#CheapPCChallenge 2023

I'm going for AM4 since you have a wide range of compatible CPUs, and if I'm lucky I'll get a cheap decent CPU as well.

Maybe I'll get a second exploding wrenchie award :dragnmlem:

#CheapPCChallenge 2023

Here we go again, with a lot more time this time.

I have a goal - I want a computer capable of running RPCS3 at playable framerates.

I'm gonna be buying *so many* broken AM4 motherboards.

There is no point in even having the #Reddit IPO now. The CEO has been getting publicly owned all week.

The PS3 actually supports TLS 1.2, and has a limited selection in the root trust store, making this an actual use case, albeit niche - considering you have a whooping 200 MB for your JS heap, and a whole 56 MB for page content, according to the web content guidelines.

Windows XP should be able to do it technically, but is missing the AAA issuer - at least the modern.ie one

My favorite intention-warping meme of late is "this is a technically compliant US flag according to the US flag code"

Well, I inadvertently discovered a zero-day RCE in acme.sh and got a Chinese CA to shut down overnight: github.com/acmesh-official/acm

I tried validating this hypothesis but the biggest hurdle is finding a server that hasn't dropped the SSL v2 handshake that is used in Win 2000

Linux GUI

So, this morning, after years and years of using the GUI in Linux, I gave up. The state of the GUI does nothing but deteriorate over time for accessibility, and it's exhausting. It's only getting worse. We're far, far away from what it used to be, years ago. Certainly, the QT framework has improved since 5 and now 6 came out, but GTK? Oh dear, oh dear... So, let's dive into it. #linux #xorg #wayland #a11y #accessibility #blind

apparently ZeroSSL has a cross-signed root until 2029 from AAA Certificate Services, which means it works from Windows 2000 and up - it was in the Microsoft Root Program by 2006.

curious if Win 2000 will actually validate it, since it contains a sha384 signature

It's amazing when you get dropped into a game in media res, and 50 hours later you have a worrying amount of knowledge of the universe and how it fits together
