Its work. It's hard work. It's often work that exposes you to some really nasty shit. We know the type of shit people post when being super nasty and we know that it can harm people to have that stuff filtered thru their head.

That's a danger to minors and way too big of an ask.

I've seen that happen on much nicer pastures than here, and even just the labor of working out such problems among users is work, and exhausting work.

We may not have the resources yet to pay moderators when they really should be paid. But we should at least take a moral stand on not letting online spaces depend on child labor.
