have kinda just realized how much shit I know purely because we didn't have a ton of money growing up

like, significant parts of my IT skills are rooted in me getting computers that was always broken in some way (my first computer was a laptop without a screen!) and having to work around it or fix it, and to this day I'm extremely good at figuring our how to do things with things absolutely not intended for it - like making a rock tumbler out of a food container and a USB fan

also kudos to my parents for realizing that I could get weeks of entertainment from a hot glue gun, a piece of scrap wood, and random junk - i made so many "boats"

my only option to keep it in stock condition (which I should because it's over 40 years old) is to basically make a new gas tank inside the existing one, without removing it

I would basically need to get a flexible tube of some material which can handle gas, put it through the inlet and outlet of the tank, and then blow hot air through it until it's reached a reformable state where it will retain its structure once cooled - then squeeze the tail end shut to make it take the shape of the tank

if you wonder what I mean by "the gas tank which is inside of the frame", this is what I mean

the frame is stamped sheet metal as well, so it basically can't be cut without ruining the integrity

i have an old moped that gets to go slightly faster than ones registered today

issue is that has a stinky two-stroke and I legally can't change it to something else, and the gas tank which is inside of the frame is going to rust a hole in a year or two

i am not looking forward to having to redo the registration so i can put an electric motor on it

@noiob well, "new", it's available on anything newer than marshmallow, which was released 7 years ago

@noiob it's part of the carrier settings bundle whether it should be visible or not, my carrier probably doesn't hide it because I can pay €5 extra a month to have my voice mail on another one of their systems that do support basic voice mail features in the app

@noiob as a side note, it makes the voice mail page on my phone kinda hilarious
