i have this windows tablet where the battery has basically doubled in size, and there are no third party replacements
because pouch cells without a BMS is a pain in the ass to get, i might just replace it with an extremely thicc version using 18650s, and in the process bringing it from 4 Ah to 14 Ah, lol
@jhwgh1968 gonna keep the original BMS board, just with replacement cells - kinda assume that the 18650 cells, on account of being beefier, will handle the same charge voltages, but will keep an eye on them obv.
worst case, hacking up some code on an arduino to tweak the parameters on the BMS already present
@ChlorideCull ah ok, so it's more programmable than the "chip BMSes" that I was envisioning
Be careful, and good luck
@ChlorideCull just be careful that heat and surge current specs on the cells match the replacement BMS you put in it
Li-ion is something that's really cool until it gets dangerously hot 🔥🔥🔥
