things that started pissing me off once I started learning how legal systems work in general:

- ace attorney
- the FOSS community

to be fair I have plenty of reasons to be pissed at the FOSS community

@ChlorideCull Ace Attorney was meant as criticism of the Japanese justice system

@noiob sure, but there's still a lot of it that just irks me

@noiob like how the defense is always assumed guilty, even if you've gotten all the existing evidence essentially declared falsified

@ChlorideCull you call that mess of mostly priests a "community"?

@hazelnot @ChlorideCull for the lack of a better word for "people who constantly tell you what you have to use, because what you're using now is bad and evil for whatever reason you don't care much about"

@nilsding @hazelnot and even if you do care about the reason, a lot of prominent voices have a tendency to spread misinformation

@nilsding @ChlorideCull I mean, I feel like avoiding corporate surveillance and control is a good thing and people should care about it 😬

@hazelnot @nilsding there's a difference between opt-in basic telemetry and "corporate surveillance and control" though

@ChlorideCull @nilsding The difference is that corporate surveillance disguises itself as telemetry. The thing has Google Analytics now ffs

@hazelnot @nilsding except it doesn't, it uses their own self-hosted sentry instance

@ChlorideCull @nilsding I guess they took that out since the original draft, but still, no app should collect any kind of telemetry and I'm looking forward for the fork that doesn't spy on you
